Don't Forget a Thing
Everything players and parents need for a full week at Cooperstown — minus the uniforms (those are provided).
Good to Know
August in Cooperstown: warm days (75–85°F), cool evenings, afternoon pop-up showers common. Always pack a rain layer and have a poncho accessible at the fields.
Live Weather Forecast →Pin trading is one of the most memorable parts of the CDP experience. Players trade with kids from teams across the country. Start collecting early — 150+ pins per player is common. Custom team pins are popular.
Bring cash for onsite vendors at the park. The Retail Center and snack shacks do take cards, but small vendors and pin traders prefer cash. Budget ~$50–100 cash per player for the week.
You'll almost certainly need a rental car — Cooperstown has no rideshare. Book early; upstate NY inventory is limited in August. Economy cars work fine; SUVs are popular for larger families.
Bring extra SD cards or make sure your phone has space. Opening ceremonies, pin trading, and the Championship game are all bucket-list photo ops. A zoom lens is especially useful at the fields.
If you're doing Niagara + Cooperstown, plan a laundry day mid-week. Dreams Park supplies uniforms, so players only need personal laundry. Most campgrounds and hotels have laundry facilities.
